Window of Tolerance / SUDS Chart
This visual resource is designed to show the Window of Tolerance concept and SUDS scale (subjective units of distress) in a kid-friendly and vibrant format. Helping kids discover their window of tolerance and whether they feel more toward “calm” or more toward “out of control” in different scenarios helps them gain more mastery over their emotionally-demanding experiences and helps them express their feelings and needs for support to parents, teachers, and caregivers.
Note: This is a one page PDF download showing two pictures representing a “calm” window of tolerance and an “out of control” window of tolerance. A subjective units of distress scale (1-10) is displayed at the bottom of the picture and is paired with matching emoticon faces.
