Koru
The unfurling frond of the native New Zealand fern. It depicts new beginnings, life, and hope. It is the process of returning to your roots, yet continually moving forward.
Life is hard, getting help shouldn’t be
Hey, there! I’m Rachel. I created Koru Counseling and Recovery as a reminder that hope isn’t found on an island, but in a community. As a licensed professional, Christian counselor, I can work with you to identify specific tools and strengths that will help you create a true sense of purpose, rediscover joy in a post-burnout and post-pandemic reality, and increase your confidence in yourself and God's plan for your life. Have more questions before getting started? Please reach out through phone or email for a free consultation!

What We Do
The Koru Values
Inclusive
I couldn’t help but notice: therapy isn’t cheap. At Koru, instead of aligning my prices with my competitors, I strive to work with my clients and the needs of the community. I believe counseling is for all, so I want to do my part in addressing barriers and stigma, which often keep people from utilizing counseling. *I accept most major insurance plans to help make counseling accessible.
Authentic
We all know the value of “real” ingredients. We choose them for our food, our products, and our health. Why wouldn’t we choose them for our therapy, too? At Koru, I highly value a sincere, genuine, and honest approach to counseling. I will help you bravely examine your life’s complex and sometimes painful realities. If you can face your reality, you can change it.
Excellent
I believe in cutting costs, not corners. When you start counseling at Koru, you can be confident the affordability will never compromise the quality of our work together. As your counselor, I want your experience with counseling to be life-changing, in a good way! To do that, I offer an array of evidenced-based practices, backed by science, and tailored to uniquely fit you. I’m also equipped as a Christian Counseling for clients wanting to include that in sessions.
Empowering
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote that choosing to be yourself is an act of true courage. I wholeheartedly believe he was right, and I hope your time at Koru helps you create peace and closeness with the person you are, the experiences that led you here, and the person you’re becoming.
